PERANAN GURU PAI DALAM PEMERAPAN BUDAYA RELIGIUS DI SEKOLAH
Abstract
This research aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in implementing religious culture in schools, as well as the methods used in this effort. This research approach uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation in SMK Darul Amal. The research results show that PAI teachers play a key role in forming and implementing religious culture in schools. Teachers not only function as transmitters of religious teaching material, but also as role models in behaving and interacting with students. Several methods used by PAI teachers to implement religious culture include: 1) Integration of Curriculum and Extracurricular Activities: PAI teachers integrate religious values in each subject as well as through extracurricular activities such as religious activities, congregational prayers and recitations. 2) Character Development Through Example: PAI teachers try to be role models for students by showing behavior that reflects Islamic values in everyday life, such as honesty, discipline and cooperation. 3) Familiarization with Religious Practices: PAI teachers invite students to regularly carry out religious practices such as praying together before and after lessons, reading the Koran, and celebrating Islamic holidays.Factors that support the successful implementation of this religious culture include support from the school and parents, as well as the existence of structured and sustainable school programs. The challenges faced include limited time, facilities, and variations in students' level of understanding of religious teachings. This research concludes that the role of PAI teachers is very vital in implementing religious culture in schools. With the right methods and adequate support, PAI teachers can help shape students' strong religious character, which is not only beneficial for their personal development but also for the school community as a whole.
