Abstract

Character education aims to form a nation that is strong, competitive, noble, moral, intolerant, science and technology oriented, inspired by faith and piety to God Almighty. Today Islamic education and character education are important topics in the world of education, this is the number of increasingly degenerate behavior in terms of morale both in the community and in the government environment. various kinds of social problems such as crime and child abuse, are evidence that there has been a characteristic crisis in Indonesian society. The religious values ​​that have been upheld up to now and become a characteristic of the culture of the Indonesian people seem to be alien in line with the entry of a new (global) culture. Therefore, Islamic religious education is a strategy to realize the character of society starting from family, intansi and society, which is the main capital in the formation of national character.
