Abstract

Learning the Qur’an in Islamic boarding schools is expected not only to improve students’ reading and memorization skills but also to enhance their understanding of Qur’anic meanings and teachings. However, differences in memorization achievement and comprehension levels among students indicate the need for an integrated learning method. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Yanbu’a method in strengthening Qur’anic memorization and comprehension among students at Raudlatul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School Metro. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the Head of Diniyah Qur’an, tahfidz teachers, and students.

The findings reveal that the Yanbu’a method is implemented through structured activities, including Qur’anic reading, memorization, muroja’ah, and verse comprehension. The method contributes to improving reading accuracy, strengthening memorization, and enhancing students’ understanding through continuous review, halaqah mentoring, regular evaluation, and explanation of verse meanings. The study concludes that the Yanbu’a method plays a significant role in strengthening both Qur’anic memorization and comprehension. This research contributes to the development of Qur’anic learning by providing empirical evidence that the Yanbu’a method can serve as an integrated approach to improving memorization and comprehension in Islamic boarding school education.
