KONSEP PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM AL-QUR’AN

Abstract

Character education consists of two words, namely education and character. The meaning of character education according to Islam is conscious effort conducted by educators to students to shape the personality of students who teach and shape moral, ethical, and good and noble sense of culture that fosters students' ability to give good and bad decisions and realize good it is in everyday life by doing education, teaching, guidance and training that is guided by the Koran and as-Sunnah. The basis of character education in Islam is the Koran and Hadith and the morality of the Prophet Muhammad. Character education is very important at this time because the character will show who we really are, the character will determine how a person makes a decision, the character determines the attitude, words and actions of someone, a person who has good character, then his words and actions will also be good, so all it will be an identity that unites and personalizes itself, making it easy to distinguish from other identities.The most basic goal of character education is to make someone become good and smart and have a noble character. In the history of Islam, the Messenger of Allāh W also emphasized that his main mission in educating humans is to strive for the formation of good characters.
