Abstract

In the digital era, the utilization of technology in education has become increasingly important for enhancing student learning outcomes. One effective and easily accessible medium is YouTube. YouTube-based learning media can provide engaging and easy-to-understand visualizations, especially for Islamic Education and Character subjects.

This study aims to develop YouTube-based instructional media for Islamic Education and Character using the ADDIE method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This media is designed to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Al-Qur'an Minhajuth Thullab Elementary School, Way Jepara.

The research stages begin with Analysis, which involves analyzing the needs of students and teachers and identifying the appropriate material to be packaged into video form. The Design stage includes media planning, encompassing storyboards, video scripts, and visual and audio components that support student understanding. In the Development stage, the material is developed into interactive and engaging instructional videos, which are then uploaded to the YouTube platform. The Implementation stage involves testing the media in the classroom with fifth-grade students as participants, where students are given access to watch the videos through digital devices. The final stage, Evaluation, assesses the effectiveness of the instructional media in improving student learning outcomes, using formative and summative evaluation methods to gather feedback that can be used to refine the media. The results of this study show that the use of YouTube-based instructional media can improve student learning outcomes in Islamic Education and Character subjects. Through this digital-based learning media, students are more motivated to learn, find it easier to understand the material presented, and are able to access learning flexibly.
