PENERAPAN MEDIA BONEKA TANGAN DALAM PENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERCERITA PADA ANAK USIA 5-6 TAHUN

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of obstacles in the learning process. Based on observation data, the teaching and learning process at Baiturrahim Simbarwaringin Kindergarten has many obstacles such as children having difficulty telling stories, children still cannot tell stories by themselves and there are also learning media that are less varied and adequate, but teachers still try to ensure that learning activities are optimized so that they can be understood well by children who are learning. The impact of these problems is the lack of children's vocabulary, difficulty in building self-confidence and lack of enthusiasm during learning, in storytelling activities there are children who when asked they only answer one word or if not asked the child is silent. The objectives to be achieved in this study are: "To determine the improvement in storytelling skills of children aged 5-6 years at Baiturrahim Simbarwaringin Kindergarten. This study uses a classroom action research method using two data, namely quantitative and qualitative data, research in the form of classroom action research models developed by Kemmis and Taggart. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis in this study uses quantitative descriptive, namely data collected in each observation activity from each cycle implementation is analyzed using percentage techniques. From the results of the research conducted, it can be calculated by percentage. Based on classroom action research, it is known from observations of child development in each cycle, marked by the percentage of achievement indicators that increase in the development of creativity with the assessment of learning activities. In cycle I with an average value of 47% and in cycle II it reached an average value of 89%, so that it increased by 42%. Thus, researchers can conclude that the application of hand puppet media can provide an increase in storytelling skills in children aged 5-6 years at Baiturrahim Simbarwaringin Kindergarten.
