Abstract

The increasing participation of women in the workforce has introduced new dynamics within the family institution, particularly in dual-career families where both husband and wife are employed. This study aims to analyze the roles and challenges faced by working women in maintaining family resilience from the perspective of Maqashid Shariah. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method, this research focuses on Muslim families in East Lampung Regency who have successfully balanced dual roles. The findings indicate that working women are capable of maintaining family resilience by fulfilling their roles as mothers, wives, and economic contributors—supported by effective communication, role management, and religious commitment within the household. The principles of Maqashid Shariah, including hifzh al-din (preservation of religion), hifzh al-nafs (preservation of life), and hifzh al-mal (preservation of wealth), provide a significant framework to evaluate whether women's professional engagement aligns with the objectives of Islamic law. This study recommends the need for synergy among government policies, religious values, and internal family agreements to build strong families amid modern demands.
