Abstract

Anti-corruption education in schools is a strategic effort to shape the character of the younger generation to be honest, responsible, and have integrity. However, the success of implementing anti-corruption education largely depends on the perceptions and understanding of teachers, who play a central role in the learning process. This study aims to explore teachers' perceptions of anti-corruption education in schools, as well as the challenges they face in its implementation. The research used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews conducted with 15 teachers from various subjects at three secondary schools in Jakarta. The results of the study show that the majority of teachers have a positive understanding of the importance of anti-corruption education, but they face challenges in its implementation, such as the lack of available materials, insufficient specialized training, and limited support from the school. Additionally, many teachers expressed the need for integrating anti-corruption content across various subjects and strengthening their role in instilling values of honesty and integrity in the classroom. The study recommends the development of a more comprehensive curriculum on anti-corruption education and ongoing training for teachers to enhance the effectiveness of its implementation in schools.
